About me
I did four and a half years’ training at the Karuna Institute in Devon* and have a Masters Degree in Core Process (Mindfulness-based) Psychotherapy I am UKCP accredited.
I have been working with clients in private practice since 2007.
More recently I completed a course in Contemplative Supervision at Karuna Dartmoor and am working towards completing the hours required to gain the Diploma and listing in the Association of Core Process Psychotherapists (ACPP) and UKCP Supervisor Directories.
Supervision whilst working towards the Diploma
I am happy to work short term – providing extra supervision alongside your usual supervision – and longer term as your main supervisor. I am offering lower cost for 6 sessions. If we continue to work together my fee will then revert to full cost. Feel free to ask me about this.
My background is in general nursing and language teaching. In addition to supervising psychotherapists I have an interest in working with health care professionals and those in the field of emotional & spiritual support for example nurses, medics and allied health professionals, carers, spiritual chaplains.

My approach
Supervision is primarily a collaborative enquiry. My main intentions are to create a space that:
is warm and supportive
enables honesty and doesn’t shame shadow material
offers challenge and growth
The mindfulness-based model involves bringing awareness to what goes on within us as therapists when we sit with the other. We bring curiosity to what happens in the thoughts, the feelings and the body and what the client is expressing in these ways. This means evoking the client in their wholeness and not simply foussing on the presenting issues, important as they are. We pay attention to the transference and counter-transference, to what happens in us as we sit with the client and to what gets in the way of flow between client and therapist.
Please note: I work mainly in person. I am not taking supervisees who want exclusively online sessions.
